Website Maintenance and Support
A site rarely breaks all at once: more often a form stops working, a price on a page goes stale, or an update leaves an error behind. That kind of work is billed hourly from €8/hr — no monthly subscription and no minimum volume.
Updated
Why hourly
A monthly retainer is convenient for whoever issues it. An hourly rate is more convenient for you.
You pay for work, not for standby
One month takes two hours, the next takes none. A fixed fee in that situation means paying for someone to be on call rather than at work.
You can see where the time goes
Before starting I say roughly how long a task will take; afterwards, how long it actually took. If something turns out to cost more than it is worth, I say so straight away.
I also work on sites I did not build
WordPress, Astro.js, plain HTML — I first look at what is there and tell you what can be changed safely and what is better done differently.
What gets asked for most often
- A contact form that stopped working. The most common case of all — messages stop arriving, and you find out when someone calls to ask why you never replied.
- Stale content. Prices, contacts, opening hours, the list of services. The small thing that stays unfixed for years because there is never a moment to work out how.
- An error after an update. A plugin updated and something fell apart: the layout broke, a section disappeared, an error message showed up.
- A new section or feature. An extra service, another language, a different work gallery, an integration with an external tool.
- Speed. Sites get heavier over time: photos, plugins and external scripts accumulate. When the problem is general rather than local, there is a separate page about speeding a site up.
What I work with
WordPress — including Divi 5 and WooCommerce stores. Astro.js with a headless CMS (Sanity, or WordPress in headless mode). Plain HTML with Tailwind CSS — sites with no CMS at all.
Hosting is your choice: Hostinger, Vercel, Cloudflare. If something is already in place, I continue with it instead of moving anything.
How I estimate scope
Before starting I say roughly how many hours a task will take. If it turns out along the way that it needs more, I stop and tell you — an invoice should not be a surprise.
Sometimes the answer is that it is not worth doing. If I can see that a site rests on a pile of plugins and every fix carries risk, I say so directly, even though billing hours against it would be the easier option for me.
What you get
The work done, and a short explanation of what was wrong — so that next time you can check something similar yourself. If the change is one that can be made without a developer, I show you how.
How the work goes
You describe the task
A short email is enough: what is broken or what you want changed. If you are seeing an error, a link to the page and a screenshot help.
I estimate the scope
I look at what is going on and tell you roughly how many hours it takes and when I can start. The timing is agreed before the work, not after.
I do it and show you
Small changes go in straight away; bigger ones I show you first, so you can have your say while nothing is live yet.
I check what is next to it
After a change I go over what was already working: forms, links, the mobile view. Breakage usually turns up somewhere other than where the work happened.
FAQ
Questions that come up before getting in touch.
What does maintenance cost?
An hourly rate from €8/hr. Before starting I tell you roughly how long the task will take, so the invoice is never a surprise.
Is there a monthly fee?
No. You pay only for work actually done. There is no contract with a minimum volume and no subscription for months in which nothing happened.
What exactly does maintenance cover?
Bug fixes, content updates, new features and consultation. In practice that is a form that stopped working, a stale price or contact detail, a new service section, replacing photos, or speed problems after an update.
Do you take on sites you did not build?
Yes. I first look at what is there — which system, which plugins, how it is hosted — and tell you what can be changed safely. If I see the problem runs deeper than one bug, I say so openly instead of billing hours against symptoms.
Do you work with agencies and teams?
Yes — I take on individual tasks: building from a finished design, optimization, migration. In that case I work inside your process and with your tools.
What if the site went down completely?
Write immediately and say what changed just before — an update, a new plugin, a change at the hosting provider. That is usually where the search starts.

Got a task?
Describe what is broken or what you want changed and include the address of the site — I will tell you roughly how long it takes.
